The story of Geneva’s ancient jewel started almost 2000 years ago! The Old Town and Plainpalais districts are next to each other, and they make up one of the largest old towns in Europe with a charming atmosphere.
The Old Town is the central part of Cité-centre, the administrative city center of Geneva!
The area is filled with stunning art galleries, museums (including the Art and History Museum), and antique shops! Don’t forget to visit St Pierre Cathedral while you’re there!

Paquis is also home to the Red Light District, so many clubs are open until late and filled with friendly people!

Located south of the Old Town, Carouge is one of the areas in Geneva with a super interesting story reflected in the architecture of the buildings.
The area used to belong to the Italian and French people and has that classic Mediterranean style found in Nice and a seaside village atmosphere.
Rue St Joseph is where you’ll find antique shops and cool second-hand bookstores, which I consider the perfect places to find hidden gems and unique gifts!
Carouge is also known as the shopping district of Geneva, and it makes sense since the Shopping Center is located here! Also, don’t miss the iconic Carouge Museum!
After sunset, Carouge shifts into this romantic, almost Italian village with small cocktail bars and restaurants waiting to offer you a fantastic experience during your stay! Because of this, it’s also a great area for couples in Geneva!
